Hybrids or Rescue Clubs

Did you know that Hybrids have been around since way back in 1975 when Cobra intro'd a grrovy new baffler club? However the modern penchant for hybrids didn't come about until 2002 when Taylormade launched their mid Rescue model. Once tour pros had grasped that the hybrid or rescue club was easier to hit from the rough, in many cases, than the long iron that they really took off. They were found to extra super useful in gaining good distance when escaping from the rough.

Nearly 70% of golfers now carry a hybrid or two, the shorter shaft, shallower clubface and deep centres of gravity make them way more controllable then thumping a normal wood.
